I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Shelfie was born from my lifelong passion for children’s literature and the transformative worlds it opens to young minds.

As a primary school teacher and later an international school principal, I’ve seen time and again how books spark imagination, nurture empathy, and give children the courage to explore. Working in bilingual and multilingual communities has also shown me how books help children grow, connect, and find their voice.

With Shelfie, I dreamed of creating more than just a bookstore. I wanted to build a space - virtual initially - where families, teachers, and young readers could access a carefully curated collection of high-quality children’s and youth literature, right here in Montenegro. Every title is handpicked: from picture books that bring joy, to novels that inspire curiosity and empathy, and non-fiction that feeds young minds with knowledge.

For the international community in Montenegro, Shelfie makes it possible to find exceptional books in one place - readily available, thoughtfully chosen, and easily accessible. Our shelves are a colourful mosaic of voices and cultures, because I believe every child should see both their own world and the wider world reflected in the books they read, and enjoy

This dream really took root in Montenegro, a young nation with an international spirit. After nearly ten years living in beautiful Boka Bay, I’ve been inspired by the way this community blends heritage with a global outlook. Shelfie is my way of bringing that same spirit to children’s literature - a celebration of language, identity, and imagination without borders.
